August 15, 2008- Masterpiece, AYS, Shape of Screw

We got to the venue after something like a 7 hour trip, even though it was only supposed to take 3 hours. I walked alone for a bit and then chilled downstairs in the venue. When I came up again I saw my friend Dominic, who I met in Canada. After eating some amazing food provided by the promoter me, Pat, Franca and Dominic walked to a castle but it was closed, so we got ice cream instead. When we got back to the venue we chilled for a bit. The first band went on and they were a punk band, they were really good. AYS was second but I missed most of the set because I was outside talking to a "swiss miss". Our set was fun, kind of sloppy but we had a big reaction. We ended the set with Leeway. We ended up selling a ton of merch too. The tour package was paid 700 Franks which is pretty much $680 USD, pretty crazy. After the show we went to some kebab shop and the promoter bought everyone food. Some weird/old/drunk lady kept rubbing Wade's shoulders and then touched his dick and freaked him out. She ended up giving him a kiss on the cheek after everyone in the shop was yelling, "KISS! KISS! KISS!". That lady was gross. After that we went to the place we were spending the night at some rehearsal space an awesome skate ramp in it. Awesome show.

August 14, 2008- AYS, Masterpiece, Reaching Hand, Unknown, Brainwash

We got to this show about an hour early and the feeding frenzy went down. I like how we show up to the venue and head straight for the food. This show was really weird and the crowd was bizarre. There were a ton of girls with fan club shirts of some dude in one of the local bands, 15 year old kids drinking beer, dudes who looked like vampires, and just all sorts of randos. I even saw one of the vampires who was wearing a mesh shirt and corset pay with a check to get into the show. The first band was Brainwash and they were a punk band of kids, they played for 45 minutes. The second band was a death metal band and they kept using a fog machine. The drummer played like he never used a drum set before. Pretty sure they played for an hour. Reaching Hand was up and their set ruled. 2 GB covers and a Floorpunch cover. We played and our set was pretty wild. We pretty much played the most violent set ever. Moshing with guitars, attacking the crowd, stealing hats. We played on the floor and kids got on the stage and built a human pyramid so I threw the mic at them. Jonas and Nichlas attacked them too. The kids on the bottom looked scared as shit. During another song they did the rowboat thing on stage so I got up there and headwalked them as they were doing it. AYS's set was sweet. We just kept dumping bottles of water on the floor and sliding around on it.

After the show we went to the promoter's parents' house and crashed. In the morning we made breakfast, harassed the geese in his backyard and listened to shitty CDs like Slipknot (or as it said on the CD, SLOPKOT).

August 12, 2008- MP, AYS, ABTM

A 5 hour drive turned into ten and a half and it was horrible, super hot and boring, that means Pat started getting fucked with. We got to the venue after one and a half hours of street traffic and we saw ABTM. AYS was next and they obviously ruled. We played a shitty set and Pat broke a bass string. The place was tiny and water kept getting thrown around and everyone kept sliding back and forth. There were two Russian chicks there who took a ton of photos of us and were super excited to be seeing bands. They were bummed when we didn't go to the sea with them, but it started pouring out anyway. Back to Nab's house to sleep.

August 11, 2008- AYS, MP, ABTM

Same line up, different day. The place we played was underground and really small. It looked like some shit out of the movie Blade. ABTM sounded good at this show and ended the set with a Floorpunch cover sung by Pfelicks. We played next and it was a solid set. We covered Leeway but no one knew it. At some point AYS dudes picked me up and crowd surfed me, my head knocked down a disco ball. When AYS played we kept throwing confetti everywhere. Fun show, cool city.

August 10- Masterpiece, AYS, A Bridge To Many

Another long drive through France but we got to Spain about 30 min. too late. It was ok though because the promoter got there at the same time. We were all starving and took a walk through the townto find food but it was a let down. We ate at some gyro place then went back to the venue. It was a dump and smelled like shit. There were a few people there though. ABTM opened and played a decent set. Pretty much the same as the night before. AYS played second but I was outside for most of it due to the stale air inside the place. We headlined and it was a pretty good set. No real fuck ups and we cut it a few songs short. It was definitely a much needed release of frustration.

August 9, 2008- AYS, Masterpiece, A Bridge To Many, Knock On Effect, Golden District

We got to the venue a little early and were greeted by a dude with a soulfy tattoo and dreads. We walked around for a bit and looked at shit like tourists do. Wade got McDonalds but I figured I'd wait until the promoter fed us. bad move. After walking around a 1600 year old church we went back and the food was almost done. They gave us rice salad which consisted of rice, lettuce, bell peppers, corn and tuna. It was horrible, but then they brought out pasta, too bad there was no sauce. I found out something new when everyone started putting ketchup on that shit, so gross. They had places for us to stay at the venue and we were hanging out there, climbing out onto the balcony and acting like fools. At one point Nichlas decided it would be a good idea to spill a little beer on me. So I ran upstairs and choked him out.

Golden District played first and their set was cool. There was a lot of weird moshing going on. Kids building human pyramids and shit. They covered guns up! again. Knock on Effect was next and I didn't watch them but instead went outside and had Germans teach me fucked up shit to say. Then they tried to convince a chick to make out with me. Some pirate looking dude kept coming around and weirding us out. ABTM was next and were ok. They covered American Nightmare and Carry On. We played next and it was a decent set. Acouple fuck ups but Joe is still getting it. At one point the germans made some row boat thing on the ground by sitting down and hooking legs and pretending to row, so I jumped on them from the stage. AYS played last and were awesome. After the show we went upstairs to the sleeping area and all sorts of funny stuff went down. Jonas, with the help of others, put his asshole on Nichlas' face. Nichlas was bummed. Then some drunk chicks came in and we just kept yelling shit at them. One of them flipped out and kept yelling, "My Pussy, Your Dick!" and humping the air. Pat got scared and hid under his sleeping bag. I slept on a bed that I broke by suplexing Pfelicks through it. The show was ok, but it would have been better if it started earlier than 10pm.

August 8, 2008- Masterpiece, AYS, Golden District, Get Lost

We drove for like 13 hours and got to Nantes, France but they were having trouble finding the venue. We pretty much drove through every street. I was sitting by the sliding door and kept opening it up and yelling at french people. At one point we threw water and nuts at the other van. Gummi (AYS) spit at me at one point so when we got to the venue I chased him with potatoe salad. The venue was pretty cool, it was a bar that could hold about 300 people. Another show with a solid crowd. We went to the backstage room and ate some pizza and shit then shot the fire extinguisher down the stairs. The first band was ok, I was mostly trying to get some food so I missed part of their set. I saw them cover Stop and Think though. Golden District was next and they were really awesome live. My friend Vince sings for them and I know him from back in the USA. AYS played another awesome set and there was some moshing. We played last and had another awesome reaction. Notable moshers were a 47 year old guy who ruled, and some guy who looked like Todd Jones from the future. At the end of our set kids were going nuts for us to play more. We didn't know any more so they were booing us. We sold a bunch of merch so that ruled. I can't believe the reaction we have been getting and it has only been for 2 shows.

August- 7, 2008- AYS, Masterpiece, Reaching Hand, Sink or Swim

The venue was tiny as shit. We got there really early and just chilled. We met the Sink or Swim kids and the rest of AYS. They brought awesome vegan gyros to us and I ate two of them. The show was nuts. 150 paid and they were only expecting 80. It was Sink or Swim's demo release show. They had a chick singer and sounded better live than on their myspace. Reaching Hand from Portugal was next and were really good, another band with a chick singer. We have 2 more shows with them on tour later on so that rules. We played next and got a unexpected huge reaction. Stage dives, moshing, singing along, who knew? This shit was crazy and actually made me feel like I have accomplished something. I don't think I have ever sweat so much during a show. AYS was last and were solid. Kids loved them. We laughed at EuroMosh but it was all good. Its like going back in time to the 90s. The stage dives were funny but at least the kids caught the divers and then crowd surfed them. I climbed some rigging shit and swung across into the mosh. Awesome show though.

Europe so far

This shit has been crazy. Kids in most of the cities know our songs already, we've been selling merch each night, and overall have been having a great time. I have been keeping a written tour journal and I will be copying all that down and putting it in zine form when I get home. I have also been keeping a record of each show how I normally do on here and when I get home I will copy all of that to this site. I just don't have the time or patience to do that now so I will give a brief re-cap of how things have gone down.

-first show was insane- stage dives, sing alongs, bigger reaction than some hometown shows.

-most drives turn from 3-4 hours into 7-8.

-we have had a few drives over 12 hours long.

-a lot of girls don't wear tops to the beaches in Nice, France.

-Mike got pissed on by a cat in his sleep.

-I sleep in the van almost every night.

-Pat will probably kill mike and wade before we get home.

-In Broye Les Pesmes, France we played the most ignorant set ever and 15 year olds were drinking.

-We walked in a castle this morning.

-Food out here sucks.

-People like soulfly here.

-We talk all sorts of shit in either french, english or german to people.

-The shit we talk usually revolves around saying blowjob in different languages.

-We have covered Leeway a few times.

-AYS rules.

So yeah, I'll update this more when we get home. The Keyboards here are whack.

No Rules. No Peace. No Hope. No Rest.

First show of tour

We are sitting around at the singer of AYS's house waiting to play. It should be interesting to see what goes down.I'll try to update this shit as much as I can. Regardless I am keeping a written journal and will update about the shows whenever I can get on here.

Germany

This place rules and we have been hooked up by Pietz and his family with some awesome food and a place to stay. We are driving to the Netherlands today to go to some outlet mall. We saw a German Version of Spongebob on TV and also some channel to buy ringtones and shit that had titties all over it. Our first show is tomorrow but tonight we are supposed to be going to some Disco club or some stupid shit. We have all been up since 530 am.

Euro Tripping

We are currently waiting at the departure gate at LAX waiting to
board. The flight is a little delayed so we are crammed into this
small ass area with a ton of people. So far this trip has been crazy
funny and we haven't even left CA yet.

July 28, 2008- kids like us, bitter end, the mongoloids, rotting out, masterpiece

We pretty much showed up to this show 5 minutes before we were
supposed to play so we had to get all our shit up the 2 flights of
stairs really quick. We set up as fast as we could but this still
resulted in us starting later than we were scheduled. Not only were we
late, but wade broke a string during the kingtro. After he fixed that
we pretty much were left with like 10 minutes to play. The rest of the
set was decent but short. Kids mashed.

Rotting out played next and opened with We Gotta Know. Their set was
awesome. Mongoloids played and their set was definitely fun. Luke got
smashed in the face because he got caught in the mosh. Bitter end
ruled and they played shit off the new 7". I didnt watch kids like us
because it felt like 160 degrees in the room.

Overall the show had an awesome turn out considering sound and fury
ended the day before. There was something like 130 kids that paid,
awesome.

Daniel treffry cancelled on going to this show because he is too weak
for the mosh.

July 23, 2008- Kids Like Us, Furious Styles, The Mongoloids, Wages of War, Life or Death, Black Out, Masterpiece

This was an awesome show, there were a ton of kids there and we had an awesome and unexpected reaction. We pretty much played the usual set and kids were feeling it. Jimmy's sticks went flying out of his hands twice in one song, yikes. The PA was pretty sweet but the mic chords were fucked up. SNAKE POWER.

Black Out was after us and they did a good job. The singer sang for Life or Death immediately after too because Captain was down in Mexico or some shit. Wages of War played and Esteban didn't say as many ignorant things as he usually does. Kids were moshing like maniacs. It has been a while since I have been at a show with a lot of ninja moshers.

The Mongoloids set ruled. We chanted USA during their set and Greg got smashed in the face with a cream pie.

I didn't watch furious styles or KLU, I did see the first song from KLU though and it was part of the song, Dead and Bloated from STP, awesome.

July 5, 2008- Life or Death, Xibalba, Masterpiece, Colossus

We met up at Pat's house before this show and loaded our gear into the van. We all finally saw Pat's room and it was everything we ever hoped it would be. We also met the guys from Colossus there. They spent the night at Luke's house. After watching some show about Anacondas we headed up to Riverside. When we got there we checked out the venue and then walked down to Farmer Boys to get some grub. Some homeless lady asked if we were brothers, I told her we were and then told her that Jimmy's name was Franken. The venue was on the second floor of a building and there were some steep ass stairs to climb into this place. It was also between a gay bar and a coffee house, I saw a vampire hanging with a juggalo at the coffee house. Colossus played first and there wasn't that many people in there to see them. I thought they were awesome and that the first song they played, which was a new one, was the best one. We played next and I think we did a pretty good job. There were some moshers there who were ninja kicking into each other. Noah from Wages of War was there so that was pretty cool. Xibalba played after us and it was fucking heavy. Nate's voice was probably the heaviest shit I've ever heard. A friend of the band kept pulling their basketball shorts down, they didn't look amused. Life or Death played last and it was pretty heavy. Unfortunately me and Mike started discussing band biz and missed half of their set, which included a Buried Alive cover...bummer. Overall the show was fun despite the lack of people there.

What Life Is was supposed to play this show, but they didn't. The promoter told me that they wanted to get their friends' bands on the show but he told them the venue wasn't down for that. Then they wanted to just get a bunch of their friends in for free but he wasn't having it. So they said fuck it, lit fireworks outside of the place, then left the show without playing. I think that was a pretty shit move considering there was a touring band on the show.

June 29, 2007- Down Again, Masterpiece, Take Offense, SBV, Modern Man, Northern Towns + a ton more

This was the second benefit show in one weekend. This was definitely not our best show. My voice was blown out and we fucked up a couple songs. It happens. Move on.

June 27, 2008- Have Heart, Verse, ON, Built To Last, Masterpiece

This was a benefit show at he Che Cafe for the women of Juarez.

When we showed up to this show there was already a line outside, which was crazy because the show wasn't even starting for another hour. There was a Mercedes parked out back and apparently someone keyed it. No one knows who did it but the jock dudes who owned it weren't too pumped. Before we played we Brandon took some promo shots outside for us. We are going to use it for the inside of our CD most likely.
We played one of our best sets. Everyone was going pretty crazy and when that happens we really feed off of the energy. Then again, who doesn't? It seems whenever we play a bigger show like this one we get a great reaction. We played a bunch of new songs that are coming out on our LP. There was plenty of moshing going on through out the set, awesome.

Up next was Built To Last and they played a really awesome set. The only downside is that when they were playing a huge chunk of the crowd was outside doing whatever. They ended their set with a Gorilla Biscuits cover. ON played after them and they sounded alright, I only watched half of their set though. Verse was up next and its like everyone came inside for their set. The place was packed. They played songs off of all 3 of their albums. It was a really sweet set. Have Heart was last and it was chaos. If you were standing in the back you didn't see shit because most of the crowd was standing on stage and fucking up Have Heart as they tried to play. That shit gets annoying. Overall the show was great. Here are some more pics of MP that Brandon took. This dude rules.

June 13, 2008- Lewd Acts, Masterpiece, Cheap Art

Friday the 13th. It was originally said that every band was going to play a Misfits cover. In the end, none of the bands did. Down Again dropped off this show so it was only 3 bands. When we arrived Lewd Acts was still screen printing random shirts for their tour, a pretty cool idea. No two shirts are the same, the print is, but the shirts were all different. Cheap Art played first and they sounded better live than they do on their myspace page. They are a punk/old school band with a chick singer. Check them out if you are into that kind of stuff. We played next and we had to do it up as a 4 piece. Wade played bass because Pat is off in Europe doing some wild ass shit with Luke. We had a bunch of friends from North County come out so that was cool. Lewd Acts played last and this was their tour kick off show. They played an awesome set and covered a Black Sabbath song. Jake Spek's mom was totally into it. After the show I picked up an awesome new Lewd Acts Tank Top. If they come through your area check them out. After the show we went to some Mexican place that sucked.

May 30, 2008- Rotting Out, Masterpiece, Hostage Calm, Offtrack, Blocked Out

You can see that the line up slightly changed from the original flyer. Also, Careless Days was supposed to play this show but they broke up which sucks because I thought those dudes were pretty good. This was our second time playing the Hellfish and that place is really awesome. It is a screen printing shop that moves all its shit outside to have shows, much respect. The only downside to this show was that the PA speakers sounded blown and it made everyone sound like Jake Bannon from Converge. (Converge rules by the way.)

Blocked Out played first, it looked like they were really awkward when they were playing. They are obviously a new band and its probably the first band any of them have been in, you gotta start somewhere. I don't think the bassist had his shit plugged in though. Offtrack played second and I honestly don't remember anything about their set. Hostage Calm from CT played and they were pretty awesome. Aside from the complications with the PA they sounded on point. I was really into them and you should check them out. They were all pretty cool guys too. We played after them and we played a set similar to the last couple shows we have played. Crucial D., some others and Luke were holding it down with the crowd reaction. As I looked around as we were playing it seemed like people were digging us. Rotting Out played last and they played like 5 cover songs. Dag Nasty, Cro-Mags, Pennywise, Minor Threat, and Suicidal I think, I went back outside right before that one to man the merch tables. RO have new Football Jerseys. They are pretty expensive but definitely a cool piece of merch.

Pat's new name is "CHUNO" because he cheats at Uno. This was the last show Pat is going to play for about 20 days or so. Pat and Luke are heading out to Europe for vacation. While they are there, there is some fest going on and the last day of it is the "Dutch Open Mosh Competition". I'm pretty sure a trophy is involved. When Pat gets back we are playing a pretty sweet show with Have Heart, Verse and Built to Last at the Che.

No Rules. No Peace. No Hope. No Rest.

We have finished writing our new album called "No Rest". We are heading up to Noise Pollution Studios in Lake Elsinore, CA this weekend to begin tracking this record. Until then you can hear two demo songs from it on our myspace page.

NO REST

May 16, 2008- Masterpiece, Joyful Sounds, Kill City, Pagan Prayers

The Stripline rules. Probably one of our favorite places to play. The first band to go on was Pagan Prayers. It was a 2 man acoustic project with some anarcho lyrics and a good message. It seemed like everyone was feeling it. Kill City played next and Shaun was going insane. I think this was the second time I had seen them and they were awesome. Joyful Sounds played right before us and it was Jim's last show. Their set ruled as usual. We played an Al, the guy who runs the Stripline was stoned so he asked if it would be cool if he used his stage lights for our set. We had no problem with that. It made our set "theatrical". This was probably one of the best sets we have ever played and we changed up our set list from the normal jams. We played a ton of new songs including a brand new one that was just written last week and a song we wrote a while ago but never played live. We had a really intense crowd reaction and everyone was singing along and moshing. Luke is close to perfecting his mosh moves and demonstrated them on stage. Also at the beginning of one of our songs he started chanting E-C-W! During our last song, Living Legend there was a scuffle between friends of ours and that doesn't happen during MP sets. I'm pretty sure things got taken care of after the show but it sucked for us because we had friends on both sides. If you're going to brawl it should be in a wrestling ring with barbed wire and chairs involved, ECW style.

May 16, 2008- SUN GOD FEST

The most awkward 18 minutes of our lives. We were the only hardcore band to play this show and we played to a huge open field to 8 people. 19,000 tickets were sold to this but we played at 12:55pm on a Friday so no one was there. The first band played on the main stage played to 4 people so at least it wasn't that bad. Coheed and Cambria, Sean Kingston and The Aquabats were also some of the bands playing. We watched The Aquabats, crowd surfed Pat and then left all with brand new sunburns.

April 10, 2008- Masterpiece, Ration the Truth, Tantive IV, Eyes of an Era

This was a house show that was a benefit for our friend Omar's friend who was in a coma. Good cause, we are always down to help. The show started off with us playing an epic game of UNO and Bret from CV won.

The first band was a horrible 2001 Trustkill throwback. I had to walk away because the singing was just too funny and I didn't want to laugh as they were playing...yikes. Tantive IV played second and their set was pretty awesome. They covered a few songs but CV supports CV and they had an awesome reaction. The next band, Ration the Truth, was a moshy band and they sounded pretty good. Not really my thing but kids were moshing and singing along. We played last and we had a really good reaction. Out of the whole show we played the shortest set which is the way we like it. 18 minutes is all you need.

The reason why this house show was a success was because it started early so the cops weren't able to pull the plug...take note.

May 1, 2008- XOVersa, Masterpiece, Averman, Oh No Not Stereo, Truth Is

This was such a random show for us to play but a friend of mine from the band Averman (Virginia Beach) asked if we wanted to play. We were literally the only hardcore band on this show.

Averman covered Gin Blossoms and Limp Bizkit and it was fucking funny.

A bunch of friends came out to this show though so that ruled. During our set dudes were rolling onto the stage, moshing across and just acting like fools. It was awesome. Overall the show was kind of a bust but all the dudes from Averman, Truth Is, and all our friends made it worth it.

NO REST FOR THE WEST 2008

The Long Road Home

After saying goodbye to our friend that we were on tour with we started to drive back to San Diego. There's always something weird about driving through the middle of nowhere. A two lane highway with random puddles of blood from the dead animals that have been smashed by prior vehicles, no phone service, no other roads, no other cars, and signs that say to report shootings. As I drove through the night and everyone else was asleep all I could think about was how I couldn't believe it was over. Ill Intent, Grave Maker, Pressure Point and pretty much everyone else we met on the trip are the best people ever. We stopped in Vegas and picked up some donuts (vegan ones for mike) and then walked on the strip a little. I lost 20 bucks, no big deal. We got home about 20 hours after we left and the next day we all had to return to normal life, shitty. We have a show in San Diego tonight though.

April 28, 2008- Pressure Point, Grave Maker, Aces & Eights, Ill Intent, Masterpiece

*Masterpiece and Ill intent riding in the I.I. van in downtown Boise, ID.

After hanging out in Reno until about 2:30am we loaded in the vans and drove through the night. I drove until we had to stop and get gas in Oregon. The whole time I listened to the audio book for Workd War Z. It was pretty boring but I kept listening. I watched the sun come up over the mountains. I think that is my favorite time to drive. We got to the venue at 10am and I was able to get a little bit of sleep in. When I woke up I checked out the inside of the place, it was awesome. It was just a big room with a pretty big stage, a bar, and tons of art and sculptures.

Clarke from Idaho met up with us and MP jumped into the Ill Intent van. We stopped at a record store and mike dropped some cash on some more records. Wade bought some new shoes which is cool because his feet smell like creeping death (\m/). We went to the mall and some dudes stole socks and we grubbed out at the food court.

We got back to the venue and did a sound check and then played a game of UNO. Chang and wade are cheaters though. The promoter was awesome and him and his wife brought food and drinks for everyone. We even had a backstage room to chill in, it was unreal.

MP played first and I think it was a pretty awesome set. I almost hurled from eating chili right before we played. A bunch of kids moshed and Clarke and II dudes were singing along. Ill Intent was on after us and it was awesome. I moshed on stage for the last song. Aces and Eights was on and I only heard them from outside because I was talking with terry and Clarke. They sounded good though. Grave Maker went on and everyone was into them. For the last song everyone moshed on stage again. Pressure Point played last and it was awesome. There were tons of skins out to see them. They covered 3 songs tonight, cro- mags, bad brains, and the trouble.

The last week has been awesome but every road ends somewhere and after tonight our road ends in San diego. We will miss all those dudes but its not like it will be the last time we will see them. Ill Intent are our brothers.

15 hour drive from Boise to San Diego.

NO REST.

April 27, 2008- Grave Maker, 1618, Pressure Point, Ill Intent, Masterpiece, Kasu Moto, See it Through

On the way from Sacto, we were blown away at how awesome the scenery was. It was warm out but there was snow on the ground. Because of this there were tons of awesome little waterfalls. Jimmy was way pumped and freaking out like a kid. We played. Couple games of UNO, the 2nd one was for cash...I won. We got to the venue pretty early and loaded things in. Jimmy and some of II started skating in the skatepark. Within 5 minutes terry knocked over some kid on a scooter and busted his ass a few times.

See it through played first and I was really into them they sound a little like ruiner. This metal band from LA called last moro played second and it didnt seem like anyone was into them. They seemed cool though when I talked to them before the show. I thought the drummer was a girl for a good 40% of the night. We played and I felt like kids were really digging it. Not a lot of movement but it looked like kids were feeling it. We sold an ok amount of merch. Ill intent t was on after us and terry was man handling kids. Pressure Point played next and they were pretty awesome. Cro mags covers every night. 1618 played next and they were pretty good. A melodic hardcore metal blend. The singer had a really strong voice. Those dudes were really nice. GM played last and kids were digging them. There was a ton of mosh from everyone. Pretty good show. Everyone we met in Reno was awesome!

After the show we went to the strip and ate huge burgers at The Nugget casino which turned into chang gambling and everyone playing a game where you shoot quarters and that causes other quarters to fall down. Chang was flipping out. He later won 50 bucks before we left and we
drove through the night.

Ill intent has a blog now too, check it out in the links.

After leaving Santa Cruz we grabbed some grub at the Bell where Cam got harrassed about giving them a Canadian quarter. We drove out to Sacramento to Sean's house and chilled out. Jimmy and Pat were with Ill Intent because some of those dudes were getting tour tattoos. Me,
mike and sean hit up whole foods and I stole some chapstick. Then went back and chilled at the house. I finally watched the NGC straight edge documentary.

The show didnt start until 10pm and we were on first. There were some kids besides the usual usuals moshing. We ended with the outro again. Ill Intent tour it up as usual. WNH are a punk band from Canada and they were pretty good. There were a lot of punkers moshing around.
Grave Maker was up and it was awesome. A lot of kids came to see them. PP headlined and it was cool. Lots of skinheads. They covered cro-mags and we all moshed. The show ended at 1:30 and then we hit up del taco on the drive back to the house. I lit some fire crackers in between
the 2 vans in the parking lot.

There were tons of babes at this show and it blew everyone's minds. What do they put in the water up here?

April 25, 2008- No Truce, The Wrath, Pressure Point, Grave Maker, Wolves and Thieves, Masterpiece, Ill Intent

We got to Santa Cruz really early and we walked around the boardwalk and downtown for a bit. Mike got fries and a vegan milk shake from Saturn cafe. It was a little too pricey for me and my budget so me and Cam Brown went across the street to Taco Bell. After we ate we found the venue and then walked back to the beach to meet up with everyone else. On the way there we thought we saw Jake from II but it was just some dude who looked like him. We went back to the van and drove to the venue. Everyone went to a huge record store and spent their money
on some new jams.

The venue was inside of an Indian food place. You opened the door in the back and it went I into a huge room. It was like a dance hall or something and there were mirrors on the wall.

Ill Intent opened and it was awesome. The same mosh fest. We have been having mini-competitions like who will sing a whole song with their pinky up on the mic, or the main one who can do most guitar jumps in one song. I think mike is winning with 23. We played 2nd and it was a pretty good set. Our friend sean drove out to the show from Sacramento. We are staying with him tonight. After we played we all took a walk to 7-11 and saw goth girls. We got back just in time for Grave Maker. They now have sweet nirvana rip off shirts. I missed PP and The Wrath but I heard that Brian Hong Kong got moshed in the face. I watched no truce and they were pretty good.

After the show me, mike, Cam and wade stayed in a college dorm and kids were partying all night. At 3:30 am the fire alarm went off. Totally bogus. I didnt bother to get up but wade went outside with only his jeans on and froze his ass off. I was trying to smash the fire alarm off the kids ceiling with a golf club but kevin woke up and stopped me.

Laughing Sal!

Santa Cruz, CA

April 24- Grave Maker, Masterpiece, Ill Intent, Truth Is..., some metal band, Careless Days

*This is a photo of Mike, Pat, Wade(driving), and Cam Brown on the way to Newport Beach from Lake Elsinore as we drove through the mountains.

We showed up to the show about an hour early and me and mike took a walk. Some cops clowned on mike about being vegan when he asked if they knew where a health food store was.

This band called careless days opened the show and they were awesome. They opened the set with a black sabbath intro. The singer hit the mic on his head and the sound guy said, "now you can't use my mic, bitch." everything got figured out though. Some metal band played 2nd they all looked like they were in 9th grade and they had weird singing parts. Truth is played 3rd and they're a pop punk band. All the tour bros moshed like idiots. Terry picked up some random kid on his shoulders and the kid looked freaked. Ill Intent ruled. Plenty of mosh. We played one of our best sets and we ended the set with the Masterpiece intro/outro. Grave Maker played awesome and during the last song everyone moshed on the stage.

After the show we went to In n Out but me and a few others grabbed some taco bell. After that we took a big group photo with mike beggs.
Then Chang from II forced himself to puke on the window.

We drove to Santa Barbara last night and in about 15 minutes we are driving up to Santa Cruz. Lost Boys was filmed there, awesome.

Jimmy is a punk rocker

Nice crooked back patch...

April 23, 2008- Masterpiece, Grave Maker, Ill Intent, One Choice

After hanging out all day we headed over to the show. I took a ride with Chris McRae, Kyla, Pat and Mike to am/pm and they got coffee.
While we were there I saw the scariest, most intimidating man ever.

One Choice played first and it was probably my favorite time seeing
them. The singers 7 year old daughter was moshing in the back and singing along. Ill Intent was second and we all moshed for them. Grave
Maker played and Pat fell on the ground after I had spun him around on top of my shoulders. Our set was ok, we fucked up a leeway cover but its cool because there was hardly anyone there. After the show we all partied back at wes and Eric's house.

Best part of the show was Terry shitting on the floor in the bathroom. The owner of that place is a dick.

Our dudes from Joyful Sounds came up for the show and that rules.

Wiffle Ball

So far today Mike cooked an awesome breakfast for everyone which consisted of tofu, soyrizo, and potatoes. Then we watched Vegas Vacation and I'm pretty sure Jimmy sewed a backpatch onto a Cut-Off jean vest. I cooked up some pasta for everyone and then we played an awesome game of wiffle ball. Right now everyone is sitting around in Eric's house from Noise Pollution Studios and resting up before the show tonight.

April 22, 2008- every second counts, masterpiece, ill intent, archetypes

We got up to Irvine super early today after stopping at costco to fill up the van with snacks. We met up with Ill Intent and we are beyond stoked to be hanging with those guys. Johnny came out too and we all played a wild game of wiffle ball where Pat and Jimmy almost killed each other of the rules of baseball. We've been eating junk food all day.

Archetypes was the first band to play and they were awesome. They also had a guy doing lights on the floor, wicked. Ill Intent played second and I think they were awesome. They started the set with the intro to "we gotta know" . We played and some kids moshed. We sold some shirts and had a dance party. ESC was the last band and they were pretty rad. They covered Count Me Out.

Highlight of the show was our friend Chris McRae from Canada showed up and suprised us. Then at the end of the show Terry from II pulled chris' shorts down revealing his weiner to the crowd. Wildomar tomorrow, we plan on smashing that place.

The writing process

We have been working on our new album for a little while now and we
are a few songs away from being finished. On the left you can see a
little bit of our friend Pat, he is now officially in the band. This
is the last change up before we start really moving. Tour coming up,
LP coming out, a huge fest in May, an insane tour in August and plenty
of shit in between. There will be plenty of updates.

Serious Dudes

This photo was taken after a show at the stripline with A Better Hope Foundation, Grave Maker, Joyful Sounds and Kill City on March 27. Masterpiece played a short 4 song set using Joyful Sounds gear. From Left to Right is Brian (GM), Wayne (GM) and Jimmy (MP)

March 22, 2008- Rotting Out, Alpha & Omega, Downpresser, Masterpiece

We showed up to Chateau Harder just around 5:30 but since we were borrowing rotting out's gear we had to wait for it to show up. Everyone there was partying and grilling up some food. When the gear got there we set everything up with rotting out and then we played a decent set. It felt like we were spot on with each song and it looked like everyone was into it. Pat played with us again and he did a great job. The bass amp he was using didnt have a ground so him and mike electrocuted each other 2 times during the set. Joe harder moshed during one of our new songs, you gotta respect the living room mosh. Its funny that we played a straight edge song to a bunch of dudes drinking, its not the first time but I get a kick out of it. I'm pretty sure they get that we dont have a problem with people who drink, its just not for us.

Downpresser played after us and it was fucking heavy. After them alpha & omega played 2 songs and the drummer from downpresser filled in for them. He had only heard the songs 30 minutes before playing them. He did a great job. Rotting out played last and it was jamming. They covered dag nasty and that rules.

March 19, 2008- Bitter End, The Red Awakening, Masterpiece, Teenage Kicks

We got to this show really early because we didn't realize that when you cross the border the time difference is back an hour. Mexico's daylight savings time is two weeks behind ours. To kill time we went down the street and bought some street tacos and quesadillas and then walked around on Revolucion and Jimmy and our friend James bought switch blades for 20 bucks. Wen we got back, we went upstairs from the venue and saw a poster for an event happening there that night called, "WednesGAY", awesome.

More Than Words was supposed to play this show but they broke up. They had a good run, you should still check them out on myspace. Teenage Kicks opened this show and they played a pretty awesome set. They play a really fast old school hardcore/punk and Josh from More Than Words plays drums. He rules. We played after them and our friend Pat played bass for us. Pat is a fucking awesome kid and he learned some of the songs the night before. There was some moshing and shit. After we got done I had to go outside and cool down because it was so hot inside the venue. I bought an Apple Soda and life was good. Because of this though I missed The Red Awakening but I could hear them from outside. Josh MTW played bass for this band too, so that means if MTW didn't break up he would have been pulling triple duty. Before Bitter End played we were all watching E! because there was a show on there called, "Naked Wild On...", nothing but nudity everywhere. We were all hooked. Dan from Bitter End was glued to the TV. It turned into everyone saying, "HELLO" every time a chick with no shirt on came on the TV. Naked chicks on cable in Mexico, who knew? Right after that show ended Bitter End was about to play and the power went off. What a bummer. The owner of the club hooked it up with some extension chords and the show went on. They played an awesome set and there was plenty of moshing going on.

After the show was over me and James hooked up with a few locals to go findsd sketchy shit in the city because it was James' fisrt time going there. It was wicked funny. The rest of the guys caught a ride to the border from Bitter End and then got a flat tire and a dead battery on the side of the highway and had to have AAA come fix them up. That's what they get for not having fun in Mexico.

The Living Legend

We have posted a new song from a three song demo we are putting out ourself on cassette. The demo has three brand new songs (one is an intro). The two songs that are on the demo will be coming out on our full length LP at the beginning of the summer. For now though give a listen to this brand new song, The Living Legend.

STRAIGHT EDGE RULES.

Feb 24, 2008- Spring Break, Masterpiece, Vermefug

This show was at Sergio Typhoon's house or the "Brooklyn Bazaar" as it is sometimes called. The thing about this place is that when the bands play there it is like a reverse stage. You are down in a pit that is like the back porch and everyone watches you from the driveway which is above you. Its kind of hard to describe but you might be able to understand it from this photo from a previous show of ours there. At this house every show there is a party and it fucking rules. Sergio Typhoon is one of the raddest dudes alive and even though he is a total pothead he is always cool with the fact that we are a straight edge band. He has no problem talking shit to the cops and if they come to bust up his house party he will tell them that he just got home from Iraq and that its his birthday even though this dude has long hair and a beard. The shows at his house always draw the wildest and most random crowd, from hippies, to crust punks, metal kids, stoners, hardcore kids, and gangsta ass mexican dudes. Everyone gets along though.

Mother Speed and Grave Maker actually didn't play the show, so the first band to go on was VERMEFUG from NY City. These dudes looked like a cross between the crowd from a Metallica DVD and The Lost Boys. This whole band is amazing and their music was top notch. They are a straight up metal band and every song has at least one killer solo. They had song names like, "The Greatful Shred" and "Raped by Satan". They also covered "Caught in a Mosh" by Anthrax. These dudes were party animals and the singer kept saying, "We are gonna play all night loooooong!", this kind of bummed me out because even though they were awesome, the show didn't even start until 10:00pm. There was plenty of push moshing going on. They ended their set eventually and those dudes were really nice.

We played next and I had a feeling no one there was going to like us, but we still played an awesome set. Pat was there and he held it down. Following Vermefug we knew we would have to play our hardest because they were a tough act to follow. I just like the fact that we played a straight edge song to a bunch of people smoking pot and drinking. Most of our set had a hippie dude drinking wine from the bottle and moshing, awesome. Also during our set there were beach balls being thrown around. There was a little scuffle over some mosh drama and this chick smashed a beer can onto this one dude's face. Sergio did a roofie during our set, no not the date rape drug but a roof-stage dive. After our set everyone seemed pretty stoked on us and the drummer from Vermefug compared us to Cro-Mags and Madball which is probably the best thing anyone has ever said about our band.

Spring Break went on last and these dudes are pretty thrashy. There were plenty of metal heads with their arms around each others shoulders and head banging. They sounded pretty good but no one was really moshing by this time, I think people were starting to get partied out because it was already midnight.

Overall, the show was pretty wild. Parties at this place rule and if you're ever in San Diego and there happens to be a show at this house you should go because there is always something wild happening there.

Feb 22, 2008- Masterpiece, A Better Hope Foundation, Joyful Sounds, Renounce

This show started off with a potluck, me and Wade got there a little late but that didn't really matter because when we got there and met up with Jimmy, I ate almost a full pizza myself and then some cookies and some other random shit. I also threw some cookies at Jimmy and he was trying to throw chips into his own mouth.

To fully understand this show you will have to lock yourself in a room the size of a walk in closet and shove 50 other kids in there that stink and are throwing red bull into each others faces. This show was probably the wildest one we have ever played.

The first band that played was called Renounced and it was a 3 piece band with members of Joyful Sounds. They were a fast/thrashy band and they sounded ok but then I had to go outside so I could set up the merch for Masterpiece from the trunk of my Nissan Sentra.

Joyful Sounds played next and Kenny had a shark goggle mask on and a bunch of shit written on him including "Shark Attack" written on his chest.. There was a lot of crowd/stage banter and inside jokes which ruled because almost everyone at the show was friends. They covered SSD and Chain of Strength. There was plenty of moshing and diving and that whole set ruled.

A Better Hope Foundation was up next and their set was fucking wild. Also during their set 2 girls from Red Bull showed up and looked confused as fuck as kids were diving onto each other and acting like idiots. They passed out a ton of free Red Bull and that ended up just getting dumped into Kenny's mouth.

We were the last band to play and that always feel weird to me. After we played our intro Mike's amp exploded into 1,000 pieces and we had to borrow Eric's head from ABHF . Finally after getting that all sorted out we played "Living Legend", our new straight edge song. Danny Fresh was there and there was singing along going on but overall the first couple songs of our set seemed to be lacking crowd reaction. I had said that the first person to jump off of the 12 foot wall would get a free shirt. We started another song and then all of a sudden Wade jumped off stage and moshed everyone with his guitar and then that incited a riot.

Next thing you know some kid named Shaun climbs the wall, moshes on it, puts a hole through the roof and then did a 12 foot stage dive. It was one of the best things I have ever seen. Then for some reason everyone started moshing like it was a cross between an ECW match and fucking Ozzfest. I even said before one of the songs, "Mosh like this next song was written by Sepultara." There were dudes straight kneeing each other in the head, people spinning each other around while on top of their shoulders in a fireman's carry. It was like a warzone. Dude's were throwing water all over each other and I loved every second of it.

After the show we packed everything up, sold some merch and then called it a night, but not before that kid Kenny got a whole tray of random sloppy ass shit from the potluck dumped into his mouth/face. This was a fucking wild show. We all hit up Denny's after and then made the drive back down to San Diego. All photos were taken by Brandon T. except for the Denny's Jam, that was by me with my bomb ass iPhone.

Feb 21,2008- Down To Nothing, Violation, Cruel Hand, The Mongoloids, Masterpiece

This was obviously an awesome show. Even if Masterpiece wasn't on this show and some random shit like Silverchair was on it, all of us would have been there anyways because every other band that played rules. Those bands are some of the best bands in hardcore right now as far as I'm concerned. There was a really awesome turn out and I saw a lot of faces I haven't seen in a while.

We opened the show and started it off with our "Kingtro". We call it that because for the most part it is ripped off of a King Diamond riff. As soon as Jimmy started playing the drums kids started moshing side to side and I already knew that our set was going to rule. Right after that we played a new song and kids seemed to really be into it. After going through those two we went onto some material that the kids actually knew and we played "Dust to Dust", the first song off of our 7". I was really excited because everyone was going bat shit crazy. Jason C-Tech, Pat, Luke, Luke's Mullet, Orion, Chris, among others were holding it down and really set it off in the pit. During the set someone yelled out, "Drop the gimmick.", whatever the fuck that means, I don't know. Hecklers have no effect on us because we have always just gone straight from song to song and if playing as hard as we can on stage and having a good time is a gimmick than 90% of hardcore bands need to "drop the gimmick". We ended our set with "For the kids" and then the Masterpiece intro or outro, however you want to look at it. It seems like not playing that intro for a while then bringing it back was a good choice because every time we play that and the whole room is moshing it blows my mind. Shout out to Brandon T. for taking some more photos of us and the entire show.

The Mongoloids played after us and it ruled. They played a ton of songs off of Time Trials and there were even a few speaker dives from me and Jimmy. Lots of mosh and lots of head banging going on. They had a pretty awesome merch set up and it seemed like the Time Trials crew neck was the big seller that night...I got one.

Cruel Hand played next and their set was pretty sweet. They played pretty much all songs from the new CD on 6131 and kids seemed to really be into them. I saw Jimmy do a flip off of the speakers during one of the songs.

I grabbed a plate of Vegan Spaghetti from the kitchen and then caught Violation. They are my favorite band from California. and aside from Down to Nothing had the biggest crowd reaction of the night. If you haven't heard Violation yet, get out from under your rock. They just got signed to 1917 and soon they will be putting out a split double CD with Slipknot.

Down to Nothing played last and it was awesome to see this band again. This was the first night of their like 3 month world tour. Straight Edge rules. They played a good mix of songs from each record and the kids moshed and dived. I did a flip off the speaker and ended up falling on my wrist/ass, no big deal. This show was also the first time they had their new album called, "Unbreakable". This is both the Save it for the Birds and Splitting Headache albums re-released on Revelation Records. The CD also includes some random live footage. After they were done playing they ended up playing two more songs, Skate or Die and Home Sweet Home. Awesome set, I can't wait to see these guys when they are on tour with Earth Crisis and Terror.

Overall the show ruled. If you missed it and live in the San Diego area it sucks to be you.
